RELATIONSHIP & ATTACHMENT THERAPY IN SOMERSET, NJ
Feel More Secure in Yourself and With Each Other
You may long for closeness, yet find that relationships leave you anxious, overthinking, or pulling away to protect yourself. You might replay conversations, fear being “too much,” struggle to trust, or find yourself repeating patterns you understand but can’t seem to change.
These same attachment patterns can also take hold between partners, leaving couples caught in cycles of pursuing, withdrawing, conflict, or emotional distance, even when both people deeply want to feel closer.
Attachment-focused therapy helps individuals and couples understand what lies beneath these patterns, heal the experiences that shaped them, and develop new ways of relating—with greater security, trust, and emotional connection.
You deeply long for closeness, yet intimacy often feels activating rather than soothing.
You oscillate between pursuing closeness and pulling away to protect yourself.
You often carry a deep hope of being fully understood alongside a fear that you are “too much”.
A delayed text, a shorter reply, or a canceled plan can quickly spiral into self-doubt or fear.
You struggle to relax into love, even when it is present.

Meet Priya Mukhopadhyay, LPC
Trauma & Relationship Therapist in Somerset, NJ
I help individuals and couples who are struggling with attachment trauma and complex ptsd so they can feel safe in their bodies and in their relationships.
This work is deeply meaningful to me because I understand both personally and professionally how profoundly attachment wounds and complex trauma can shape the way we see ourselves and move through relationships.
That understanding shapes how I show up in the therapy room: grounded, warm, and deeply attuned, with thoughtful directness when it’s helpful. I honor your pace, your nervous system, and your autonomy.
Over time, this work can help you feel more grounded in your worth, more secure in connection, and more confident showing up as yourself in relationships.
Therapy Services
C-PTSD Therapy
Complex PTSD can develop in response to prolonged or relational trauma, affecting emotional regulation, self-worth, and the ability to feel safe in relationships. Treatment focuses on understanding and healing these deeply rooted patterns.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy addresses the relational patterns that can leave partners feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or caught in recurring conflict. Together, we explore attachment dynamics, communication, emotional responsiveness, and rebuilding a more secure and resilient connection.
Attachment Trauma
Attachment-focused therapy helps you understand how early relationships continue to shape the way you experience closeness, trust, and emotional safety. Together, we work to shift patterns of anxiety, disconnection, or self-protection so relationships can feel more secure and authentic.
Relationship Anxiety
When relationships feel uncertain, it can be hard to think about anything else. You may overanalyze conversations, seek reassurance, or worry that something has changed between you. Therapy can help you understand what drives this anxiety, feel more grounded in yourself, and experience relationships with greater trust, clarity, and security.

I am currently considered to be an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide you a superbill each month to give to your insurance. Please check with your insurance about your out of network mental health benefits - many of my clients are able to get reimbursement from their insurance.
Why you should consider working with an “out of network” therapist:
No limitations on sessions. We can meet for as long as you need without having to worry if insurance will cut us off, or end coverage, which could abruptly end your care.
Allows me to offer you more flexible, personalized, and intentional care.
Helps me keep your information completely confidential, without needing to share diagnosis or notes with insurance companies.
Allows us to avoid surprise billing issues, which can lead to lapses in treatment.
Lets us focus on what’s best for you, not what insurance says is best for you!

I meet with clients once a week for a 45-minute session.
Research shows that weekly therapy is the most impactful. With this in mind, I ask that you commit to weekly sessions for the first 6 months of therapy to establish care and get the support you deserve. I reserve biweekly therapy appointments for those who are transitioning out of therapy.

In our first session, we will review intake paperwork together. We will talk about how you are feeling about starting the process, and we will collaborate on what feels important to you. The first few sessions may feel like a bit of story telling to catch me up on your history. I also work intentionally to check in and make sure that our work is still feeling like a good fit for you.
